Overview
As a Management Trainee, you will participate in our Operations Management Trainee Program. This is an entry level training position consisting of an intensive 16-week program designed to prepare you for an initial leadership/supervisory role in operations. Under the direction of a mentor, your primary responsibility is to learn the basic principles of the transportation industry, efficient cross-dock operations, effective leadership communication, and relationship building skills.
Upon completion of the Trainee Program, relocation to another facility for your first leadership role in Operations will be required.
For this position, candidates are required to hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or have at least two years of related work experience. An acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards is essential. The role demands flexibility with a readiness to relocate as needed. Average Annual Starting Pay: $50,000-$60,000.
Work Shift:
First Shift.
- Complete the leadership training program requiring guided, independent study.
- Interface with appropriate Support Center and Service Center associates in the completion of various aspects of the training program daily.
- Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls.
- Accompany drivers on local delivery routes to gain an understanding of the freight delivery process on occasion.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or at least two years of related work experience.
- Acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards.
- Willingness to relocate as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening abilities.
- Professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
- Basic computer skills and a strong work ethic.
- Relocation to another facility will be required at program completion.
- Reporting and training structures under a mentor.
