JOB SUMMARYUnder general supervision is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Trophy Club Community Pool, including serving as the main point of contact for pool staff and guests, responding to emergency situations, providing support for programs, conducting pool maintenance as needed, assisting with staff training, maintaining accurate records. The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe and well‑maintained Community Pool for guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESJob duties and responsibilities as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the typical tasks performed. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform related duties as needed.
- Provides day-to-day oversight of aquatic facility and staff for the Town’s Community Pool
- Ensures the safety of facility users and staff by following state and local safety regulations and enforces safety guidelines that are consistent with Town policies
- Monitors pool water chemistry in accordance with approved regulations
- Maintains accurate records including but not limited to operational checklists, pool chemical logs, in‑service training logs, and concessions inventory;
Notifies supervisor of findings and areas of need - Responsible for addressing customer questions and concerns; resolves issues or notifies supervisor
- Responsible for the collection of fees and preparation of bank deposits
- Leads training sessions, including weekly lifeguard in‑service and daily safety drills; ensures that Community Pool staff attend required trainings and maintains records
- Provides safety for patrons; monitors activities in the water, pool decks, and ancillary areas of Town’s Community Pool to prevent accidents and to ensure the safety and well‑being of patrons
- Monitors facility use; ensures that the facility is opened, closed, and secured in compliance with Town practices and procedures and that the pool and restrooms are maintained in a safe, neat, and clean condition
- Inspects and maintains swimming and pool equipment for functionality; ensures proper placement and availability in the pool area; recommends maintenance and repair as needed
- Assists with administrative duties related to the Town Community Pool and aquatic programs and activities
- Provides leadership to the aquatics team, with the flexibility to fill in lower‑level positions as needed
- Assists with Town special events as needed
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- Minimum one year experience as a Lifeguard, Pool Manager experience preferred
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification is required at time of hire and maintained throughout employment
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification is preferred at time of hire and maintained throughout employment
- Principles of leadership.
- Principles and techniques of all lifeguarding skills.
- Organization and operation of the aquatics facilities, including maintenance, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
- Relevant laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Operational characteristics of water rescue safety equipment and devices.
- Principles and practices for providing high level of customer service.
- Principles and practices of recordkeeping.
- Modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications related to the work.
- Assign aquatics staff to daily rotation schedule, ensuring proper coverage to ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
