Overview

. The F-35 Program is looking for world class talent to help manage and lead software development teams within the Combat Systems Ground Systems Mission Data Team located in Fort Worth, Texas. We are looking for an experienced software manager to help lead and apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in the software field to develop solutions to complex problems within F-35.
The candidate selected will be responsible for leading agile teams consisting of LM Aero software engineers working on the F-35 Common Reprogramming Tools (CRT) product. Responsibilities also include coordinating employee work assignments, program staffing, performance assessment, salary, recruitment, selection and training, and recognition/disciplinary actions. They must have the ability to think outside the box and make recommendations and decisions on project schedules to avoid cost overruns and missed scheduled commitments.
They will apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle and ensure software standards are met.
They should exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate a proactive, problem solving, cost conscious and company-focused mindset. The selected candidate must have presentation skills and the proven ability to communicate at all levels (internally/externally) and create/execute a plan in a challenging and rapidly changing environment while promoting the use of automated toolsets within daily operations.
This person will be responsible for establishing and executing a strategic plan to drive execution of F-35 software products, direct execution forecasting, guide metrics generation, and maximize tools, processes and product commonality between Aero programs.
Responsibilities- Lead agile teams of LM Aero software engineers working on the F-35 CRT product.
- Coordinate employee work assignments, program staffing, performance assessment, salary, recruitment, selection and training, and disciplinary actions.
- Make recommendations and decisions on project schedules to avoid cost overruns and missed commitments.
- Apply standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle; ensure software standards are met.
- Establish and execute a strategic plan to drive execution of F-35 software products, forecast execution, and generate metrics.
- Promote automation and the use of toolsets within daily operations; drive tool/process commonality across Aero programs.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Systems Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in software design, development, and test.
- Experience leading a team.
- Experience with workforce planning.
- At least 5 years experience with design, development and/or test of Software Systems.
- Software estimating experience with LM process experience.
- Experience with LM Standard Software development processes.
- Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops Methodologies.
- Familiar with Software Pipelines and modern software development practices and technologies.
- Knowledge of Agile Software Development and SCRUM Process.
- Candidate with at least 3 years experience in technical leadership with increasing responsibility and a minimum of 8 years experience in software design, development, and/or test preferred.
- Track record for leading a team to higher levels of performance through evolving tools/methods.

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. The salary information is a general guideline; factors such as scope and responsibilities, experience, education/training, key skills, and market considerations are considered when extending an offer.
