Workday Financial Integrations - Senior Engineer (HYBRID)

GEICO is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Workday Financial Integrations team. This is a hybrid role based out of one of the following office locations:
Palo Alto, CA;
Dallas, TX; or Chevy Chase, MD.

This role involves designing, developing, testing and deploying various types of integrations using the Workday core toolset. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while fostering psychological safety and continuous improvement.

Position summary

Senior Engineer within the Workday Financial Integrations team responsible for managing system integrations, supporting inbound/outbound Workday integrations, and collaborating across teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage system integrations within the Workday Financial architecture.
  • Provide support for Workday inbound and outbound integration issues; modify existing integrations and develop new ones.
  • Define product requirements and leverage technical skills to drive solutions.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration across the software lifecycle.
  • Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate engineering quality.
  • Ensure data and application accuracy and integrity through analysis, coding, documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Translate business and functional specifications into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with other teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support Workday-based solutions.
  • Design and develop interfaces and conduct unit and integration tests.
  • Share passion for staying current with tech trends, experimenting with new technologies, and mentoring others.
  • Mentor other engineers and share best practices to improve processes across teams.
Qualifications
  • Experience developing new and enhancing existing Workday integrations, PRISM lineages & Accounting Center processes within financial domain.
  • Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST) and WS standards.
  • Strong technical experience with XML and XSLT.
  • Knowledge of Workday development tools (Enterprise Interface Builder, Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, BIRT).
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining solutions for complex integrations; ability to create complex calculated fields.
  • Experience building scalable, resilient, highly available systems.
  • Understanding of monitoring concepts and tooling.
  • Experience architecting and designing new and current systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities; capable of thriving in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle tooling (task management, source control, build/deploy/operations, real-time communication).
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work independently and in a team setting, with timely follow-up and resolution.
Experience
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience within the Workday ecosystem (specifically Integrations).
  • 3+ years of experience with architecture and design.
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
