Part‑time position 25–28 hours per week
Provide support and operational assistance to probation officers and supervisors in the handling of juveniles referred for law violations, specifically in activities such as JJAEP, mediation and other specialized program activities. Assist with probation monitoring, transportation, court reports, daily program activities, and referral to and follow up with community resources. Develop and maintain monthly and annual statistical program reports including training records, contractors' activities reports and mediation reports.
Associate's degree OR 60 hours of college work plus one (1) year of full‑time work experience in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
- Keyboarding experience, familiarity with standard computer software programs, and good organizational skills.
- Bilingual skills are helpful.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential records.
- Position may also be required to complete non‑violent restraint training.
If hired, you must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to walk, sit, stand and ride. Must be able to use non‑violent physical restraint to manage clients when there is threat of injury.
