Department SummaryThe UNTHSC Utilities & Energy Management department, part of Facilities Management, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the campus's essential building systems and infrastructure, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and sustainability
Position OverviewIn this position, you are responsible for performing routine inspection, maintenance and repairs to building mechanical systems (pumps, valves), HVAC systems and related equipment (air handling units, filters, cooling towers). You would also be responsible for startup and shut down of major building equipment (Chillers, Pumps, Cooling Towers). You will perform minor plumbing and general building maintenance duties as required.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma and one year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

- Perform routine inspection, maintenance and repairs to building mechanical systems, i.e. pumps, valves, etc.
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems and related equipment. i.e. air handling units, filters, cooling towers.
- Maintain comfort levels in a building environment through the computerized building automation system.
