Preferred Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a highly qualified individual who brings a strong technical background and hands-on experience in key areas critical to our fleet operations.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Hours, location & work setting

The hours and location you’ll work in as a Senior Diesel Mechanic with WM:

  • Monday – Friday every week, and 1 Saturday a month.
  • First Shift 5am to 4pm.
  • We’re committed to offering you stable hours for the financial security and work-life balance you need.
  • The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at our Ft Worth, TX hauling site.
About the role

As a Senior Diesel Mechanic you’ll fix the trucks and equipment that service over 20 million customers across the USA. You’ll work on equipment that requires a high level of skill—and, at some locations, on our growing fleet of CNG trucks. You’ll use modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on diesel equipment and, where applicable, on CNG trucks.
