What You’ll Be DoingThe Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing, fixing, upgrading, and performing preventive maintenance on various equipment types—including coin and currency equipment, ATMs, software, and specialized office products—at client sites. You will coordinate with branch sales and other service team members to ensure ongoing success.
Responsibilities and Duties- Service, upgrade, and perform preventive maintenance on company electromechanical equipment.
- Travel by vehicle daily (90%) to client sites and occasionally overnight (10%).
- Work with branch employees to satisfy client needs.
- Address customer service requests within the specified contract response time.
- Provide extended hours coverage and on‑call duty when applicable.
- Safeguard and maintain a balanced vehicle stock parts inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness of company‑issued vehicle and schedule service intervals.
- Protect company‑issued assets such as tablet computers and mobile phones.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- 1+ year of experience in a technical/field service position or similar profession.
- Impeccable integrity.
- Ability to access highly secured environments; may require occupational licenses depending on territory/accounts.
- Strong electromechanical aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑first attitude.
- Personable, approachable, and able to collaborate at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work.
- Proficiency in iOS, MS Office applications, and Windows OS.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to set and track goals independently, initiate tasks, and work proactively on a team.
- Commitment to meeting project deadlines.
- Availability for periodic training at the corporate office in Mt. Prospect, IL.
- Ability to lift, push, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Work involving kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting up to 60% of the time.
- Hand and wrist dexterity needed for screwdrivers and part placement.
- Phone or desk work about 10% of the time.
- Ability to stand for long periods up to 75% of the time.
- High energy level and comfort with multifaceted projects.
- Strong influencing, analytical, and problem‑solving skills; ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to establish credibility, make decisive decisions, and support organizational priorities.
