As we grow, we’re expanding our Field Services team to ensure exceptional support at our customer sites.
Position SummaryThe Field Services Technician is a hands-on role, responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Pronto's advanced technology solutions across a range of customer locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring successful deployment and optimal performance of Pronto equipment in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Perform on-site installation of Pronto hardware and software solutions, including sensor systems, DBW kits, power integration, and vehicle interfaces
- On site installation of peripheral hardware such as network stations, gate systems and office infrastructure.
- Conduct system calibrations and validation tests to ensure installations meet operational standards.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Customer teams to ensure field deployments align with specifications and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering on R&D projects .
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure system health, reliability, and long-term performance.
- Monitor and log equipment conditions, identifying signs of wear, degradation, or environmental impacts.
- Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and connectivity issues in the field.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and logs to identify root causes and implement fixes with minimal downtime.
- Communicate findings clearly to engineering teams for deeper analysis and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the face of Pronto during on-site visits, maintaining professional and responsive communication with customer personnel.
- Provide basic training to customer staff when required.
- Document all service activities, updates, and issues using internal ticketing and CRM tools.
Required
- 4+ years of experience in field service, automotive electronics, mechatronics, or a similar technical support role .
- Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electrical testing tools.
- Solid understanding of vehicle systems (power, CAN bus, sensors, ECUs).
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and follow technical documentation.
- Comfortable working independently in field environments and with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% to customer sites.
- Experience with autonomous vehicle systems, heavy equipment, machine control, robotics, or complex sensor integrations.
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems and remote diagnostics .
- OSHA 10 or equivalent safety certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of standing, bending, and working in and around vehicles for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
