Job Summary
The Territory Manager is responsible for the sales of outside capital equipment in an industrial or commercial setting. They will work within protected territories to represent our various lines of products and services while maintaining excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, and good mechanical aptitude.
Essential Functions
- Promote the company and all products and services
- Coordinate with department managers, TM’s customer, and OEM to resolve issues
- Provide surveys, demos, local support, and consultative advice to all internal and external customers
- Prospect for new customers by telephone, face to face, e-mail, and networking
- Cold call on prospective customers and follow up on referrals
- Prepare new, used, allied, sweeper scrubber, parts, service, and rental equipment proposals
- Ensure the specs and pricing are correct on the proposal
- Create customized presentation packages for the client
- Makes personal sales calls at customer sites on a regular basis.
- Seeks out prospective customers/business opportunities with new and existing customers.
- Establishes and maintains customer relationships to grow profitable sales.
- Stay current on existing and emerging products and technologies.
- Introduces and demonstrates new products to assigned accounts
- Maintains ethical, cooperative manufacturer relationships consistent with company image and company/branch goals in the marketplace.
- Cooperates with qualified suppliers to secure mutual business through joint calls.
- Attends product training classes to develop superior product knowledge to handle customer applications.
- Maintains a professional/working image in self and work environment, including vehicle.
- Completes sales call and expense reports on a timely basis in accordance with company policy.
- Assists customers with problem solving, takeoffs, project layout/design and in pricing bills of material and project management.
- Develop and maintain a sales forecast to help analyze market conditions and/or changes in the assigned territory for maximum productivity and sales growth.
- Implement a sales plan to support sales and profitability goals.
- Coordinates customer deliveries and completes proper documentation on a timely basis.
- Performs other duties as instructed or required to successfully complete the job.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3-5 years of relevant industry sales experience preferred.
- 2- 3 years of successful outside sales management experience required.
- Experience in General Management/managing cross-functional teams is highly desirable
