Position: Principal Territory Manager - Knoxville/Johnson City, TN

About the role

Boston Scientific is hiring a Coronary Therapies Principal Territory Manager. The role requires strong sales aptitude, teamwork, and close partnership with clinical specialists. The manager will sell a portfolio of coronary products—including drug-coated balloon, intravascular ultrasound, drug-eluting stents, catheters, balloons, guide wires, and coronary atherectomy—to physicians, interventional cardiology staff, and hospital decision makers in a defined geographic territory.

Responsibilities
  • Sells products by scheduling sales calls to meet with current and potential customers to fulfill revenue and unit growth objectives on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Develops and implements sales strategies by determining the relevant factors of existing and potential accounts to effectively promote the company's products to hospital personnel and physicians.
  • Develops action plans by analyzing sales figures and reports, identifying account needs, and discussing issues with the Regional Sales Manager to help achieve annual sales goals.
  • Determines the needs, goals, product usage, and types of cases handled by specific customers by meeting with physicians and hospital personnel.
  • Observes actual procedures in the cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology lab and operating room to gain insight into each physician and lab staff.
  • Establishes pricing packages by working with relevant personnel to create price points that satisfy company guidelines.
  • Responds to customer needs and complaints by developing creative solutions with clinical research, pricing, and/or marketing.
  • Develops relationships with hospital personnel to identify key purchasing decision makers.
  • Educates customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a variety of formats and platforms.
Required qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years previous experience in sales.
Preferred qualifications
  • A four-year degree with a background in sales and a proven track record of success.
  • Strong clinical, analytical, and selling skills.
  • Problem solving and the ability to be coached and directed by teammates.
  • Must live within the assigned geographical territory.
Compensation and benefits

The annual base salary ranges from $65,000. Variable compensation is governed by the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan, including certain annual non-discretionary incentives. In addition, the position offers core and optional benefits available at Boston Scientific, which can be reviewed online.
