Position: Retail Sales Associate - 0003

Base pay $10.00 to $14.00 per hour. Commission up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $3.08 per hour on top of your hourly rate. Our retail sales associates can earn unlimited commission above your hourly base rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. They work with jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and more.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
  • Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains merchandise display.
  • Performs sales and loan transactions according to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items according to established policies and procedures.
  • Answers incoming calls per company standards.
  • Communicates legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
  • Partners with all employees to create a positive customer experience.
  • Successfully completes assigned training.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting) as per law.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage or other areas.
  • Minimum age 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, be team-oriented.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in basic math calculations.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Able to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Applicants receive more details during the interview.
