• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a strong focus on fast, friendly service.
• Assist customers by making product suggestions to support sales and service.
• Engage in suggestive selling through telephone interactions, in‑store announcements, and direct customer communication.
• Answer and respond to incoming calls professionally; resolve customer concerns appropriately and elevate to the Store Director as needed.

• Serve as the acting Store Director in their absence, ensuring full operational coverage.
• Plan daily department operations and monitor production processes in alignment with company procedures and profitability goals.
• Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, clean, organized, rotated, and displayed according to company standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the department and work areas.
• Implement promotional and seasonal displays and coordinate grocery sales promotions.
• Maintain department standards and ensure all guidelines are consistently followed.

• Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance.
• Create work schedules to ensure proper coverage and service levels.
• Maintain knowledge of all departmental duties, including opening/closing procedures, Dairy, and Frozen operations.
• Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.
• Train staff in store policies, customer service expectations, sales techniques, and record‑keeping procedures.
• Identify and develop employees with potential for advancement.
• Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary steps.

• Enforce proper code‑dating procedures throughout the department.
• Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 6 months
  .
• Control inventory to maintain proper quantity, quality, and freshness levels in line with division directives.
• Stock, rotate, and maintain product levels to ensure availability and freshness.
• Order Grocery products per division guidelines and maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Oversee reclamation processing and maintain clean, well‑stocked conditions in the back room and all Grocery Department areas.
• Monitor and control shrink and departmental costs.

• Implement correct product preparation techniques to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Safely operate equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and the Sterilox machine.
