Reports to Store Manager. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will partner with your Store Manager to support store team members to achieve sales performance expectations through active coaching, development of a team-selling environment, and operational excellence when you are the manager on duty. You will also assist in recruiting, hiring, and training the store team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Leadership
  • Partner with Store Manager to lead staff to achieve sales, service, and operational expectations.
  • Support the Store Manager in setting clear performance expectations and providing training in sales, customer service, and operations to meet company standards.
  • Model company values and lead by example as an active coach.
  • Communicate priorities and sales-driving information effectively to maximize business opportunities.
  • Assist the Store Manager in recruiting staff and contribute to an inclusive store environment.
Performance
  • Support the Store Manager in achieving business plans, including sales, customer service, and operational goals.
  • Assist in developing game plans and following up on execution to maximize sales and drive consistent performance results.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to present data-backed opportunities and recommendations.
  • Participate in driving business outreach opportunities and communicate leads to the Store Manager and Business Outreach team.
  • Identify performance opportunities and assist in developing plans to address and manage issues effectively.
Operational Excellence
  • Partner with Store Manager to ensure accurate scheduling and proper staffing to execute initiatives while maintaining sales coverage.
  • Assist with training staff on all internal operational functions.
  • Stay informed on corporate communications, directives, initiatives, and policies.
  • Support the implementation of store programs to increase efficiencies in sales, service, operations, and branding.
Workplace
  • Contribute to an engaged and inclusive store environment where opinions and contributions are recognized and valued.
  • Support a culture of learning and development, ensuring training tools are leveraged.
  • Serve as a role model to all store team members and provide enthusiastic motivational leadership.
  • Assist in creating a steady pipeline of external talent through recruitment.
  • Partner with Store Manager to conduct regular store meetings to keep staff updated on company directives.
Customer Experience
  • Assist with training the store team on customer service expectations to create an exceptional experience.
  • Support the Manager to lead the team to exceed customer expectations and achieve a high Net Promoter Score.
  • Leverage all customer feedback to take appropriate actions and prevent or resolve concerns.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to maintain brand standards and execute marketing initiatives per company direction.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of Retail or Sales experience.
  • Creative individual who demonstrates good judgement and is tuned‑into the pulse of the business.
  • Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, strategic thinker.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates active listening and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proven ability to train and develop high‑performing store teams.
  • Proficient in technology systems, applications, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing.
  • Ability to operate a computer and POS system.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift, frequently bend, squat and twist, lift up to 50 lbs., climb a ladder to reach merchandise and supplies, and see and distinguish between fabric patterns and colors.
