Buckner Retirement Services Community: The Stayton at Museum Way, by Buckner
Location: Fort Worth, TX - Onsite
Job Schedule: Full-Time
What you'll do- Set tables; bus tables, wash off tables after meals.
- Prepare beverages and food as required.
- Serve food in dining rooms or other areas as required.
- Serve beverages to residents as required.
- Blend food in electric blender; prepare steam table.
- Prepare hot cart and serve food; clean and sanitize carts.
- Mop, sweep, and clean work area.
- Take out trash.
- Receive and store groceries, frozen foods, produce, etc.; date and rotate canned goods.
- Detect, correct and/or report situations that could cause accidents or injuries to residents or others.
- Observe and report resident symptoms, reactions and changes.
- Maintain compliance with Buckner policies, procedures and requirements; comply with federal, state, and agency regulatory guidelines.
- Provide training and support to new staff members as directed by a supervisor.
- Assist with meal service prep and work as part of a team; develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers.
- Attend staff meetings and training as required; perform other duties as assigned.
- Completes and maintains required training and certification requirements (e.g., food handler certification).
- Ability to read, write, and understand English-language business documents; ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers.
- Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral instructions.
- Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment, up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
- Depth perception and field of vision; able to work with objects, equipment and machines at arm’s reach.
- Ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, and walk for most of the shift (75%+).
- Safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize sounds indicating operation problems or safety concerns.
- Ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks.
- Willingness to cooperate and work with other employees and consider residents when performing tasks.
- Ability to learn basic food serving, cleanliness, and sanitation requirements.
- Good health to properly discharge duties; note that infectious disease or skin lesions may affect eligibility per policy.
- Commitment to comply with patient rights, regulatory requirements, and Buckner policies and procedures now and in the future.
