Wellness Technician

. The Wellness Technician plays a key role in supporting the clinic’s mission to provide high-quality, affordable veterinary care. This position focuses on preventive health services, including vaccinations, parasite control, microchipping, and client education. The Wellness Technician works closely with veterinarians and other team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for all patients.

Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $19.00/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Administer vaccines, microchips, and parasite prevention treatments according to clinic protocols.
    • Collect and record patient history, weight, and vital signs.
    • Assist with restraint and handling of animals in a safe and humane manner.
    • Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after procedures.
  • Client Communication
    • Educate clients on vaccine schedules, parasite prevention, and general wellness care.
    • Provide clear instructions for post-care and follow-up.
    • Answer client questions professionally and accurately.
  • Technical Duties
    • Prepare and maintain vaccine inventory and supplies.
    • Maintain accurate medical records in the clinic’s software system.
    • Ensure proper sanitation and infection control in all work areas.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Support veterinarians and surgical staff as needed.
    • Assist with wellness clinics and community outreach events.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting (preferred).
  • Ability to safely handle dogs and cats of all sizes.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to follow protocols.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Work in an environment with exposure to animals, allergens, and cleaning chemicals.
