Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Under the supervision of the Critical Care Director, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the operations of the unit, will coordinate the departmental functions and plan for the delivery of patient care while containing costs, and maintaining working conditions.
  • The Nurse Manager will ensure adherence to the hospital and departmental business/strategic plans and to nursing procedures, standards and practices at all times.
  • The Nurse Manager will act as a resource and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for the purpose of optimizing patient care and resource usage.
  • The Nurse Manager will recognize the population specific needs of the critical care patient and apply the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviors to meet those needs when performing patient care activities.
  • All functions will be performed in accordance with the standards, practice acts, and licensure in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
Qualifications you will need Education/Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
  • Must be an expert clinician with critical care practice experience within the last 2 years.
  • 2 years recent experience in supervisory position in a critical care area preferred.
  • Positive interpersonal skills; leadership ability and skills, proactive problem solving; basic computer skills; excellent critical thinking skills.
Certification/License
  • RN with current license to practice in the State of Texas required.
  • BCLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • National Nursing Certification, preferred.
