Overview
Nursing Supervisor Neonatal ICU/NICU Department
The Women’s Center at Texas Health Fort Worth, a MAGNET facility, has been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and is a Maternal Level IV Designated facility.
Responsibilities- The Supervisor role will involve Charge RN responsibilities, office hours and committee meetings under the guidance of the Nurse Manager.
- Assist with audits, time and attendance, coaching, attend some meetings, evaluations.
- Facilitates patient nurse assignments and provides coordination of patient care on nursing unit.
- Serves as a role model/mentor for Registered Nurses in professional development, practice, and continuing education.
- Coordinate the scheduling of staff for unit or designated shift.
- Provide continuous constructive feedback and annual performance evaluations to staff.
- Participate in coaching and counseling, Progressive Disciplinary action process with Nurse Manager/Director and staff.
- Assist in providing staff meetings with Nurse Manager and facilitates during meetings as appropriate.
- Identify ineffective, inefficient or costly processes and take action to improve those processes.
- Participate in monitoring the budget as directed by Nurse Manager/Director.
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- CLIAE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
- Two (2) Years’ experience as a clinical nurse (RN) with previous experience as a Charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) Required
- More than 4 years of Neonatal ICU Level III RN experience strongly preferred
- RN – Registered Nurse Licensure (to practice in the state of Texas) Upon Hire Required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
- NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days Required
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually 90 days required
- Demonstrate confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment

Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104 - Work hours:
Full Time Nights (6:45PM-7:15AM) for 36 hours/week with some weekend and holiday coverage. (2) 12-hour clinical shifts and (1) 12-hour shift of flexible administrative time – on days and nights; monthly day meetings required - Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth
- As a regional referral center for high-risk deliveries, Texas Health Fort Worth offers advanced services for complex and high-risk infants – Over 600 NICU admissions per year
- 63-bed Level III Neonatal ICU/NICU with capabilities including Bubble CPAP, Conventional Ventilator, Oscillators, and JETs (high-frequency)
- Our Level III NICU is staffed 24 hours a day by neonatologists, pediatric sub-specialists, neonatal nurse practitioners and skilled registered nurses dedicated to caring for babies with special health needs
