Fast-paced, high-volume Med Surg Oncology department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?
Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) 36 hour work week – Rotating Weekends/Holidays
Department highlights:

- Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
- Fast-Paced, high-volume Oncology Department (35 bed). Patients are admitted for multiple diseases such as Leukemia, Sepsis, Lymphoma, Melanoma, Breast, Kidney/Pancreatic Cancers, pain management and med/surg overflow
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma Required
- BSN preferred
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
- Current BLS (required) prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
- 2+ years of inpatient oncology RN experience and charge/preceptor skills (preferred)
- Successful completion of the ONS - Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate within 6 months of hire required
- OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse within 2 years of hire preferred
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
