Registered Nurse; RN Oncology - Nights

Fast-paced, high-volume Med Surg Oncology department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) 36 hour work week – Rotating Weekends/Holidays

Department highlights:

• Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
• Fast-Paced, high-volume Oncology Department (35 bed). Patients are admitted for multiple diseases such as Leukemia, Sepsis, Lymphoma, Melanoma, Breast, Kidney/Pancreatic Cancers, pain management and med/surg overflow

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma Required
• BSN preferred
• One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• Current BLS (required) prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
• 2+ years of inpatient oncology RN experience and charge/preceptor skills (preferred)
• Successful completion of the ONS - Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate within 6 months of hire required
• OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse within 2 years of hire preferred

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
