Hone Operator - 2nd shift - RSC

• Sets up and operates all precision honing equipment with the exception of the super hone for production, experimental, and tool work.
• Selects proper speeds, feeds and stones. Holds work to required tolerances.
• Set-ups are exacting usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks.
• Works from blueprints or specific written or verbal instructions and is required to check work to required tolerances.
• Determines correct procedures to follow, devises methods of honing non‑routine parts or assemblies, and makes effective recommendations for improvements in procedures and practices.

• All types of hones, machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments, tooling fixtures, templates, jibs, work aids, gauges, and a variety of layout and setup equipment.

• Two (2) years of precision (tolerances less than .0005) manufacturing machine shop honing or grinding experience including setup.
