Summary

Retrieves, loads, unloads, and moves various materials, parts, and finished goods within company premises and on/off of Class 5 and Class 8 trucks.

Job Description – 1st Shift Position

Retrieves, loads, unloads, and moves various materials, parts, and finished goods within company premises and on/off of Class 5 and Class 8 trucks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Follows all company safety rules and policies.
  • Inspect equipment daily for safe operation and reports any issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Removes and delivers damaged parts off the production floor to the proper site.
  • Operates a gas or electric forklift in and between departments, buildings, and grounds.
  • Collects and delivers a wide variety of materials while adhering to established safety procedures.
  • Delivers materials to work areas as directed, stacks materials in storage areas and loads shipments in trailer.
  • Works cooperatively and congenially with co‑workers to achieve cohesive and productive work processes and work environment.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by management or as the situation requires.
Qualifications
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Possess a certified forklift operator license and a minimum of one-year experience. OSHA trained.
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial material handling equipment with keen awareness of equipment safety and its potential hazards.
  • Ability to perform basic computer operation tasks and capable of learning programs. Able to record transactions into the ERP system.
  • Ability to use a variety of small hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with co‑workers.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Attend work regularly and report promptly for duty on the days and at the times scheduled by the supervisor.
  • Schedule changes occur and should be handled in a productive manner.
  • Working temperatures vary with seasonal changes and climate control is limited. The environment is one in which noise exists.
  • Sit on a forklift, stand, and/or walk for a combined minimum of eight (8) hours per day on a concrete surface.
  • Lift and carry components, tools, or other items weighing more than 35 pounds. Any item over 35 pounds is to be done with assistance.
  • May perform a combination of physical movements to reach areas difficult to access including bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, twisting and rotation motions using head/neck, arms, wrists, waist, knees and arms while performing duties.
  • Pull and push up to 100 pounds.

    Handle small hand tools and power tools.
  • Need corrected vision to be aware of surroundings and location of items needed and perform various other job duties.
  • Need corrected hearing to identify conditions in the environment (i.e., forklift horns, fire alarms).
  • Need mental alertness to identify, avoid, or resolve safety hazards.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors and co‑workers.
  • Ability to wear designated personal protective equipment for the work assignment (i.e., safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves and sleeves, dust masks, safety shoes).
Hours of Work

Monday – Friday – 6:00am to 2:30pm and overtime when required.
