Job Description
- Prepares various types of aircraft for flight maintaining complete adherence to company and Government specifications and regulations.
- Examines and checks all parts of the aircraft to ensure that ship is air‑worthy and ready for flight.
- Performs such operations as checking, adjusting, testing, servicing, disassembly, reassembly, replacement and repair of all parts, sections or systems of the aircraft with the exception of radio repair, instrument repair and electrical repair.
- Required to make test installations in accordance with verbal instructions, sketches or blueprints.
- Approves and is responsible for complete readiness of aircraft for flight.
- Signs‑off aircraft for flights in accordance with company, customer and Government regulations and requirements.
- Aircraft flight mechanics’ hand tools, hand and bench power tools, precision measuring instruments, a variety of testing equipment and other miscellaneous tools and equipment necessary to perform required work.
- Five (5) years of aircraft mechanics’ experience, three (3) years of which must have been in flight line maintenance and servicing work.
- Must hold a current A&P License and must obtain a Restricted Radio and Telephone Operator’s Permit within thirty (30) days following acceptance in the classification.
