Overview
This Material Coordinator – Expediter (MCE) acts as a conduit between the Maintenance and Materials sides of Aspire and the customer. The MCE communicates daily with Leads, Supervisors, Managers, Stores, Purchasing and Customers regarding parts status, off units, and other material issues that may affect the timeliness of redelivering the aircraft. Driven by the pace of the aircraft, the MCE quickly troubleshoots and tracks down parts and tools using Aspire's ERP system.
The MCE monitors due dates and arrival status of ordered parts and coordinates with the warehouse, customer, and purchasing to expedite parts procurement as needed. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, fluency in English, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and familiarity with the Aspire ERP System.
This position also requires a minimum of one (1) year of related experience in the aviation industry, a working knowledge of aircraft terminology, parts, labor, tasks, and processes, and preferably familiarity with 14-CFR Part 121 and 145 programs.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Materials Coordinator – Expediter Supervisor, coordinate with skill groups and shifts to ensure smooth transition of pacing items requiring parts and tooling.
- Act as a liaison between Aspire and the Customer for processing and approval of parts requiring expediting fees such as AOG or Priority.
- Inform the immediate Supervisor and/or Project Manager of any materials-related concerns which may affect the delivery of the aircraft.
- Interface with Customer Representatives to maintain a continuous flow of information on aircraft parts status, including alternate part numbers and tracking information updated into the Aspire ERP system; coordinate off-unit dispositions to be sent out for repair in a timely manner.
- Monitor arrival status of ordered parts multiple times daily, coordinating with a designated Purchaser and Receiving personnel to expedite procurement issues as necessary.
- In conjunction with Maintenance, process part and tool requests for production using the Aspire ERP System.
- Act as a “Runner” for HOT parts related to time-sensitive maintenance tasks.
- Notify the designated Purchaser and shipping department of all required dates for parts sent out for outside overhaul or repair.
- Coordinate with the Customer and the Aspire materials team for the immediate return of all off units removed during maintenance, providing the shipping department with all pertinent information.
- Verify that all outside services performed on the aircraft have been completed and recorded in the computer system at the end of the check to ensure proper billing.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Stores and Purchasing daily as tasks are closed to disposition all RTS Parts daily, including requesting an RMA to be created if necessary.
- Be prepared to brief all Aspire Parts daily at the morning/afternoon customer production meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned and ensure a safe working environment.
