Job Description - Leader - Materials Planning & Control - 2nd Shift (338950)
Leader – Materials Planning & Control – 2nd Shift ACCDue to exponential growth in demand for Bell aircraft, this manufacturing facility is expanding to a 2nd shift. We are looking for leaders that like and desire 2nd shift work which is 3:30 pm to 12:00 am Monday through Friday on week 1 and Monday through Thursday on week 2 of our standard 9/80 schedule.
The Leader of Materials Planning and Control will be ultimately responsible for the overall execution of the production support teams, managing up to 25 union-covered employees and ensuring on-schedule delivery to all customers.
Responsibilities- Ensure the safety of all assigned personnel and monitor compliance with safety standards.
- Supervise dispatching personnel by assessing build plans and delegating work assignments.
- Provide direction, counseling, training, and instructions to achieve departmental and program goals.
- Oversee kitting areas and ensure kits are ordered, inventoried, secured, and delivered on time.
- Monitor detail shortages and maintain shop floor control data to identify critical items and manage parts movement.
- Work with Resource Analysts and Operations Planning and Control to identify constraints and ensure positive throughput.
- Attend meetings as required and address issues that may impact schedule.
- Support cost‑reduction efforts through work-in-process and inventory control.
- High School Diploma or GED;
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business Management or related discipline preferred. - At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Warehousing, Dispatching or prior team leadership (direct or indirect).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability and desire to work 2nd shift – 3:30 pm to 12:00 am on Bell’s 9/80 schedule.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent oral and written communication/interpersonal skills.
- Materials experience preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with unionized workforce preferred but not required.
- NOTE:
Bell/Textron Relocation Assistance is NOT available for this role.
- You’ll be off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule.
