Pallet Repairer - 1st Shift

Position Summary

Ryder is immediately hiring permanent, full‑time Skilled Laborers and Construction Professionals for its manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas.

• Hourly Pay $18.00 per hour during training
• After training, $0.49 piece rate instead of hourly rate
• First Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:30 am – 3:00 pm

• Products handled: pallets
• Equipment: hammer, pry‑bar, nail gun, grinder, saw

• Use pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other tools to repair or assemble pallets.
• Place pallets on repair table, remove defective boards, replace and secure them.
• Stand for 8–10 hours, lift up to 75 lb repeatedly.
• Ensure repair rate meets company standards and safety requirements.
• Operate pry bar, hammer, grinder, saw, and 25 lb nail gun.
• Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to repair table.
• Pass CHEP quality‑control audit and maintain clean work area.
• Follow OSHA and MSDS standards and wear safety equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0–1 year carpentry or construction background preferred.
• Basic math comprehension.
• Safe operation of power tools.
• Ability to follow repair process.
• Capability to twist, stoop, squat, reach, and crouch frequently.
• Proper lifting technique for at least 75 lb.
• Stand and walk for extended periods (≥2 hrs at a time, four times in an 8‑hr shift).
• Use hands and feet simultaneously for repetitive motions.
