Milling Machine Operator A - 2nd Shift (DSC) (338430)

• Sets up and operates all types of milling machines on diversified production, experimental or tool work wherein methods must be devised to machine parts.
• Devises methods to clamp, block and hold work.
• Selects speeds, feeds and tools.
• Selects reference points.
• Uses dividing heads.
• Uses boring head with special tools and cutters.
• Work involves all types of milling operations, including facing and milling, dovetailing, boring, reaming, gear work, etc.
• Uses a wide variety of attachments including slotting equipment, grinding wheels and grinding attachments.
• Frequently works without fixtures.
• Works to close tolerances.

• Various conventional, NC and CNC milling machines and the attachments thereto, machinists’ hand tools and precision measuring equipment.

• Three (3) years performing the work above.
