Structural Test LabBring your experience and ideas to assemble and run custom-designed test machines for fatigue and static test aircraft components. This role is integral to Bell's success to verify the structural integrity of helicopter components.
What you’ll be doing as a Structural Test Lab - Associate Technician- A ccountable for construction, assembly, installation, checkout and operation of various test machines and fixtures per Engineering Laboratory Operating Procedures and Engineering Instructions.
- Contained in these tasks are requirements for record keeping, documentation, and helicopter component assembly/installation.
- Additional functions include the performance of acceptance tests, proof loading structural equipment for safety, manufacturing work aids, preparing laboratory test procedures, and calibrating data acquisition sensors.
- Responsible for completion of tasks within a set budget and schedule, as defined by the Manager, Test Technicians.
- Interact with test engineers and other laboratory technicians to ensure that assigned Mechanical Systems Test Laboratory test program requirements in the lab facilities are fulfilled.
- Interact with personnel in other laboratories to ensure a coordinated effort is maintained on assigned tests involving other laboratories.
- Interact with Manufacturing, Transportation, Maintenance, Quality, Dispatching, Tooling and various other departments of Bell Textron to ensure continued support of assigned tasks.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, reports, specifications, and engineering instructions to make, assemble, build, operate and repair test machines that accomplish certification of aircraft components or systems.
Ability to initiate and maintain open lines of communication with multiple groups or teams
Familiarity with hydraulics
High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree, T echnical School training certification, or military training in mechanical systems repair and overhaul preferred
- Own mechanics set of hand tools and ability to use effectively
- Lift 25 lbs and ability to stand most of the day/shift
- You’ll be off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule
- 80 hours of Personal Time Off (PTO)
