Role Description

This is a full-time on‑site role for a Material Handler, based in Dallas, TX. The Material Handler will be responsible for managing the receipt and storage of materials, unloading deliveries, handling and transporting materials, and conducting inventory control operations. Additional responsibilities include packing and shipping tasks while maintaining safety and efficiency in all operations.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of materials within the warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations and be skilled in using various equipment to ensure smooth logistics and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities as Material Handler
  • Receiving and inspecting incoming materials such as envelopes, inserts, and rolls of paper. Verify that incoming deliveries match company purchase orders and that the materials are in good condition.
  • Organize and store materials in designated locations using appropriate equipment after verification and inspection with Production Manager and QC Specialist.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through identification, cataloguing, and recording the location of materials, including conducting cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Operate various types of equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, manual jacks, and cardboard bailer to move and handle materials safely and efficiently. Load and unload trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
  • Move materials from inserters, packaging, and wrapping them, and preparing them for shipment and or sort by shipping date and line them up in appropriate shipping lanes.
  • Comply with safety regulations and protocols, including maintaining a clean and organised work area and conducting equipment inspections.
  • Record units handled, moved, and shipped, and maintain accurate records of packing lists, receiving inspections, and other relevant documentation.
Quality Control Inspection
  • Ensure that all products and processes comply with postal standards and regulations. Flag, separate and segregate suspect material. Work closely with production manager, print manager, and production employees to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Regularly perform inspections at machines at various stages of production or delivery.
  • Attention to detail with a meticulous approach to examining products and processes to identify even minor defects.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality inspections, and findings for internal and external management.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to initiatives to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues and perform root cause analysis on quality defects.
  • Train and document production employees on quality control processes and best practices.
  • Maintain the quality control reports in logbook folders.
Additional

Job Duties
  • Backup operator for inserting machine operator or sorter as required.
  • Operate other equipment as required such as the folder, cutter or.
  • Keep the production area and warehouse clean and organised.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • The role often requires physical strength and stamina, including the ability to lift heavy materials (e.g., up to 50 lbs. or even 100 lbs.).
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; experience with inventory software is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
  • The work will require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on the company's needs.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English. Bilingual is preferred.
