CNC PROGRAMMER

Responsibility summary

The following includes but is not limited to: create and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam, Esprit and G-code. Accomplishing process improvements, machining optimization and CNC program proofing. Will also design fixtures; research, recommend, and/or order tooling, and analyze and solve machining problems. Use ERP system to set up part routing operations and bill of material for manufactured parts.

• CAM programming experience is a must
• Esprit and Master
  
  CAM experience is preferred
• Ability to setup and operate all equipment in machine shop for first run of parts/programs
• Experience with CNC lathes (including dual spindle and Y axis) is required
• Experience with VMC’s (4 & 5 axis), HMC’s (4 axis) and mill/turn is a plus
• Familiar with Fanuc controls preferred
• In-depth knowledge of G-code programming is required
• Experience with API threading preferred
• Ability to inspect parts and adjust programs and offsets is required
• Able to trouble shoot machining problems
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings is required
• Understands cutting tool geometry and application
• Advise process improvements for efficiency, tool life and quality, and help implement
• Knowledgeable of fixturing, tool design and setups
• Knowledge of feeds/speeds in conjunction with tooling and materials a must
• Requires a positive attitude
• Good organizational skills
• Works well in team environment and with machinists/operators
• Verbal communication in English a must
• English reading and writing skills are a must
• Hands‑on in the shop type person
• Previous use of ERP system for Routing and BoM is preferred
