Working closely with leadership and acquisitions teams, the company evaluates mineral ownership opportunities, manages complex title processes, and executes strategic acquisitions that support long-term portfolio growth.

About the Role

As Land Manager / Senior Landman, you will serve as the central gatekeeper for mineral acquisitions, overseeing deal flow from opportunity review through closing. This role manages the acquisition pipeline, coordinates title work, resolves ownership issues, and ensures that acquired mineral interests are properly transferred and placed into pay status.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys managing projects and people, and brings strong experience in mineral title analysis, acquisition coordination, and oil and gas land operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage mineral acquisition deal flow in coordination with the CEO and acquisitions team
  • Manage acquisition pipeline from deal review through closing
  • Conduct preliminary evaluations of mineral acquisition opportunities
  • Analyze ownership chains, depth severances, lease clauses, and mineral interests
  • Run and review mineral and royalty title within the Permian Basin
  • Supervise and coordinate work performed by landmen and title vendors
  • Identify title defects and manage curative processes to resolve ownership issues
  • Coordinate closing processes with acquisitions and title teams
  • Review division orders and calculate Net Revenue Interest (NRI)
  • Ensure mineral ownership transfers correctly following closing
  • Maintain acquisition documentation and ensure timely filing of land records
Requirements
  • 3–15 years of experience in land, title, or mineral acquisitions
  • Experience working with West Texas mineral and royalty title
  • Background managing deal flow, acquisition pipelines, or land/title projects
  • Strong understanding of title ownership, lease clauses, depth severances, and Net Revenue Interests (NRI)
  • Experience leading and coordinating landmen, title vendors, and acquisition teams
  • Permian Basin or Texas oil and gas experience with mineral acquisitions, negotiations, or deal structuring preferred
