Department SummaryUNT Health is the clinical practice group of UNT Health Fort Worth, offering primary and multispecialty care dedicated to building healthier communities. Our services span the Fort Worth campus, Denton, and Dallas, and include mobile, in‑home, hospital, and long‑term care.
We utilize interprofessional teams, where physicians, advanced practice practitioners, therapists, pharmacists, and specialized staff work collaboratively.
We intentionally integrate healthcare students, residents, and fellows into care delivery at select practice locations, fostering the development of future health professionals while optimizing patient care delivery.
Position OverviewThe Assistant Director, Financial Operations for the UNT Health Clinical Practice Group provides strategic financial oversight and operational support for the clinical practice group. This role is responsible for the integrity of the annual budget, financial analysis and modeling, and the optimization of clinical expenses. By bridging the gap between finance and clinical operations, the Assistant Director supports key financial activities required for clinical practice operations.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and six (6) years of related experience with budgetary data analysis, clinical operations financial analysis and profit and loss financial statements; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge: understanding of GAPP, knowledge of the patient billing lifecycle, understanding of clinic financial and operations, provider productivity metrics, and how operational flow impacts financial outcomes.
- Skills: Financial modeling, variance analysis, and strategic budgeting.
- Abilities: Cross‑functional collaboration, problem solving.
Master's degree or CPA designation preferred.
Job Duties- Strategic Budget Development & Fiscal Maintenance:
- Lead the annual budget development process and provide ongoing maintenance for the clinical practice group.
- Collaborate with clinical department heads to forecast volumes, revenues, and expenditures.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies between actuals and budget.
