In the role of Distribution Center Manager, you will lead a team of DC associates in all general distribution center activities. These activities include overseeing day‑to‑day order processing, inventory control, transportation decisions, facility management, expense control, site safety and security. This highly visible role requires you to work with both local and national sales teams in a time‑sensitive, transactional environment. You should be a confident, humble team player with a can‑do attitude and a proven track record of leading, training, and developing people in a fast‑paced work environment.
WorkingConditions
- This position will lead a team of 50 to 60 employees.
- This is a hands‑on position. The individual must be comfortable driving a forklift and lifting up to 70 lbs. routinely throughout the day.
- Must be available on‑call for nights, weekends and holidays for after‑hour emergency orders.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of distribution experience in a leadership role.
- Strong organizational and multi‑tasking skills – must be detail oriented.
- Prior experience working closely with a sales team.
- Must be mechanically inclined enough to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Carrier selection and freight tendering experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior experience using WMS, TMS, and Microsoft Office software.
- A calm, level‑headed demeanor and positive attitude when dealing with stressful situations.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on supply chain and/or logistics.
- Military training and/or experience.
- Bilingual proficiency.
