Position Information

TxDOT's Fort Worth District is looking for a Project Management Specialist II or III. This position will include coordinating the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Critical Path Method (CPM) for Department projects, and providing support for resource leveling, priority development, project analysis, reporting, and training. Work will require contact with governmental officials and private entities. We have a diverse workforce of over 13,000 employees statewide.

Salary Range:

  • Project Management Spec II- B22, $4,801.16- 7,761.50
  • Project Management Spec III- B24, $5,425.33- $8,886.16

Performs project management specialist work for Department projects. Work includes coordinating the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Critical Path Method (CPM) for Department projects, and providing support for resource leveling, priority development, project analysis, reporting, and training. Works directly with the project manager to help define the project’s goals and objectives. Work requires extensive contact with department staff, governmental agencies, and private entities.

Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Project Management II

Assists in developing and supporting Standard Operating Procedures for developing, maintaining, and archiving project schedules in accordance with document retention policies.

Develops and presents budget/cost summaries to the project managers and other employers.

  • Plans, develops, maintains, and makes recommendations concerning detailed project schedules and facilitates on-time completion of projects with the optimal level of resources available.
  • Analyzes and reports on program funding change scenarios and their impact to individual project schedules.
  • Monitors and reviews the work of others to ensure project plans and schedules include the entire scope of work, management requirements, schedule hierarchy, division of responsibility, schedule review and approval requirements.
