Lock and Security Specialist; Locksmith Supervisor

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualifications requirements.

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position.

One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Some examples of this qualifying experience are:

• Experience that includes knowledge in training institution staff in all areas of security in order to maintain a high level of sound operational and structural security at the institution.
• Experience in reading and comprehending technical publications, drawings, engineering blueprints, and schematics of buildings.
• Experience that includes technical knowledge of prison locks and locking systems, including their application and use within a correctional setting.
• Experience in analyzing and accessing the current condition of equipment and feasibility towards repair or replacement.
• Experience in handling and maintaining a high level of technical and operational expertise in use of all emergency entry equipment, riot control equipment, chemical munitions, stun munitions and all special operations response team equipment

If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
