Position Summary
The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes. This individual will serve as a key leader within the organization—providing strategic financial insight while remaining hands‑on with day‑to‑day accounting management. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who thrives in a dynamic, evolving business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AR, AP, month-end close, and reconciliations
- Manage corporate insurance, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting
- Coordinate bonding and security requirements
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and maintain robust internal controls
- Support construction-related accounting and job cost management
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 direct reports (team structure may evolve)
- Collaborate closely with leadership to provide insight into financial performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong technical accounting skills with experience in the construction industry
- Proven ability to manage financial reporting, forecasting, and month-end close
- Experience implementing and maintaining internal controls
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Hands‑on and collaborative working style
- Inventory management experience
- Flexible and adaptable mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification
- Background in public accounting
- Tax exposure or experience
