Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician
Our client, a global manufacturer of precision sheet‑metal products, has an immediate need for an experienced Field Service Technician, to join their winning team in Dallas.
Our candidate of choice will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional customer service during the installation of new products, servicing existing customer equipment, and providing technical support via phone or email. You will be crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence. By expertly managing the final steps of product deployment and ongoing maintenance, you ensure that our customers receive top‑n‑quality support and that our products perform optimally, thereby enhancing customer loyalty and driving the company’s success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform a variety of technical field service duties, including new product installations, equipment start‑up, functional testing, and customer training.
- Act as a professional company representative, ensuring exceptional customer service at customer locations or in any service support role.
- Read, understand, and work with blueprints, drawings, schematics, manuals, and other specifications.
- Document machine data, service history, and quality information.
- Assist customers with parts identification and ordering.
- Demonstrate products as necessary to support sales.
- Communicate with regional managers to ensure customer expectations are met and important information is relayed to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain prompt communication of expenses and service reports on a weekly basis.
- Make recommendations for changes and improvements based on field service activities.
- Travel domestically up to 100% and occasionally internationally to support service areas.
- Two‑year Technical Associate’s Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Laser Technology) or equivalent technical school training and military/industrial experience.
- Minimum two years of hands‑on electronic/assembly repair experience, with CNC fabrication machinery equipment repair strongly desired.
- Valid, clean driver’s license and credit card.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 100% to provide customer service support.
- Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Office environment, internal network).
- Experience with computer hardware, BIOS, operating systems, networking, and CAD/CAM is a plus.
- Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic and precision mechanical equipment.
- Ability to lift/move objects up to 50 pounds regularly, with heavier lifting required occasionally.
