Barlow LLP is a full-service civil law firm providing a wide range of litigation, transactional and business-oriented services. The Firm’s litigation practice includes complex business and tort litigation, complex family law litigation, probate litigation, appellate representation, and more. We are seeking a motivated and talented litigation associate to join our team. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, efficient, and client-focused legal services in a collaborative, intellectually stimulating, and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of civil litigation experience, strong analytical, drafting and research skills, and a passion for developing their advocacy abilities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take on significant responsibility in all phases of litigation, from inception to resolution, and work closely with experienced partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an active civil litigation caseload under the supervision of senior attorneys.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and legal arguments.
  • Represent clients at depositions, hearings, and mediation.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and strategies.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit organization.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and other team members to develop and execute litigation strategies.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Texas Bar.
  • 2–5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably with some experience in business/commercial/fiduciary litigation.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
