Job Summary
The firm is seeking a First‑Party Property Coverage Attorney to join its Dallas‑based practice. This role focuses on sophisticated first‑party property coverage matters from pre‑suit analysis through litigation. The ideal candidate is an experienced coverage attorney who enjoys detailed policy analysis, strategic litigation work, and managing matters through resolution. This position is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values collaboration, and is motivated by continued professional growth.
- Handle first‑party property coverage matters at all stages, including pre‑suit analysis and litigation
- Analyze insurance policies and evaluate coverage positions
- Conduct examinations under oath and defend or take depositions
- Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery
- Attend mediations, hearings, and other court proceedings
- Develop case strategy and assist with resolution planning
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
- Maintain accurate billing and comply with reporting guidelines
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the applicable state bar or ability to obtain licensure
- Minimum of four years of insurance coverage experience
- Experience handling first‑party property coverage disputes
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple matters
- Collaborative, team‑first mindset
- Competitive salary range of 120,000 to 180,000 depending on experience
