Litigation Paralegal – Job Description Position Overview

The Litigation Paralegal provides essential support to attorneys throughout all stages of civil litigation, including case management, discovery, trial preparation, and post‑trial work. A key responsibility of this role is maintaining and managing the firm’s document review database
, ensuring accurate organization, coding, and accessibility of documents throughout the litigation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities Document Review Database Management
  • Maintain and administer the litigation document review database, ensuring all records are accurately uploaded, coded, and indexed.
  • Organize and manage large volumes of electronic documents, including productions received and produced.
  • Monitor database integrity, perform periodic audits, and ensure proper version control.
  • Assist attorneys in running searches, pulling reports, and locating documents within the platform.
  • Coordinate with e‑discovery vendors and IT personnel as needed to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Prepare document sets for review, tagging, privilege analysis, and production.
Litigation & Discovery Support
  • Draft and prepare litigation documents, including discovery requests, responses, subpoenas, summaries, and correspondence.
  • Manage and track discovery deadlines, production timelines, and court filings.
  • Review, organize, and summarize documents, evidence, and records for attorney analysis.
  • Prepare privilege logs, Bates‑stamp documents, and assist with all phases of document production.
Case & Trial Support
  • Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and litigation schedules.
  • Organize case files, deposition materials, and trial exhibits.
  • Create and update witness files, exhibit binders, and trial notebooks.
  • Provide on‑site or remote trial support, including managing exhibits and evidence presentation.
Research & Analysis
  • Conduct factual research, public records searches, and background investigations.

Prepare summaries of depositions and case documents.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate (preferred).
  • 5 plus years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • Experience with document review and e‑discovery tools (e.g.,
    Relativity, Everlaw, Concordance, Logikcull, Eclipse, Discovery Local
    , etc.).
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedure, court rules, and discovery processes.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle high-volume document sets with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
