Role OverviewThe Director of Technology is responsible for leading and aligning our clients' technology strategy to directly support operational excellence, margin protection, scalability, and long-term growth. This role ensures technology is secure, intentional, and effectively leveraged across the business to reduce friction, eliminate waste, and enable teams to perform at a higher level. Technology investments are evaluated and deployed based on business outcomes, not novelty.
This role is a member of the Leadership Team and participates in daily leadership huddles, strategic planning sessions, and company-wide prioritization and accountability meetings.
Ownership and Oversight of Third-Party IT and Security Vendors
- Serve as the primary owner of all third-party IT, security, and infrastructure partners.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and service-level outcomes.
- Ensure cybersecurity, data protection, backup, and disaster recovery protocols are in place and routinely tested.
- Translate business needs into clear technical direction for external partners.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technology and security risks.
Software Inventory and Strategic Technology Roadmap
- Maintain a complete inventory of all company software and technology platforms.
- Evaluate utilization, redundancy, cost effectiveness, and business value.
- Develop and maintain a multi‑year technology roadmap aligned with company strategy.
- Eliminate unnecessary or underperforming systems.
- Partner with department leaders to ensure tools support real workflows.
AI Strategy, Governance, and Adoption
- Develop and own the company's AI strategy and governance framework.
- Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases.
- Partner with departments to drive responsible adoption and behavior change.
- Ensure AI initiatives align with security and data standards.
- Track and communicate measurable outcomes tied to efficiency, cost reduction, or margin improvement.
Technology Enablement and Operational Efficiency
- Partner with Operations, Preconstruction, Finance, and People teams to identify inefficiencies.
- Improve workflows impacting schedule, cost control, and profitability.
- Enable better reporting, data visibility, and decision‑making tools.
- Support scalable growth without a proportional increase in overhead.
- Tie technology initiatives directly to measurable business outcomes.
- Secure, stable, and well‑governed technology environment.

- 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, IT operations, or digital transformation, preferably within construction, real estate, or similarly complex operating environments.
- Proven ability to develop and execute enterprise technology strategies that directly support business objectives, operational efficiency, and margin protection.
- Strong business acumen with ability to evaluate technology investments based on ROI, scalability, and risk mitigation.
- Experience managing and holding third‑party IT and security vendors accountable for performance, cost, and service delivery.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical solutions for non‑technical leaders and field teams.
- Demonstrated success driving the adoption and sustained implementation of new systems and tools across multiple departments.
- Leadership presence with the ability to influence through credibility, trust, and collaboration rather than authority.
- Strategic and creative thinker capable of envisioning future‑state capabilities while designing realistic execution roadmaps.
- Disciplined approach to cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise risk management.
