Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Senior Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Ops team.

The Senior Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing department heads who own data center facility infrastructure including the operational availability of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The pace, scale, and growth of Amazon’s data center platform will challenge you. The ideal candidate will understand both data center IT infrastructure and data center facilities infrastructure, and know how the two coexist. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You’ll join a diverse team of software/hardware and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, engineering technicians, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. • Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including facilities managers, chief engineering managers, and engineering operations technicians.
• Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of data center operations.
• Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build-outs, new colocation build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the entire mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure to facilitate daily operation.
• Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon data centers to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management.
• Vendor management of colocation data center services providers, if required, to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s.
• Oversight of a preventative maintenance system and adherence to schedules, evaluation, and performance of the infrastructure supporting data center operations.
• Experience in successful in sourcing and/or outsourcing specific maintenance tasks balancing internal skillsets with frugality.
• Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.
• Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
