AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support AWS data centers and the core equipment—servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling—to keep customers connected to innovative cloud services. As a Data Center Manager you will manage the world’s largest cloud infrastructure, drive operational excellence, and lead cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
- Maintaining existing data centers and helping build and bring online new data centers.
- Continuously improving processes and procedures to enhance operational excellence.
- Assisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaising with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensuring adherence to and exceeding local health & safety standards in all data centers.
- Creating and maintaining metrics to drive positive change.
- Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident, problem, change, and capacity management.
- 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
- 2+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities, mission‑critical plants, or production facilities.
- 2+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP).
- 2+ years of data center experience.
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership and building financial/operational reports that inform business decisions.
- Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions.
- Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or other Agile certification.
- Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, EBS, and S3.
The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $216,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other compensation may also be provided as part of the total compensation package.
