Job Overview

The Adv, IT Solution Architect Network is responsible for designing the network architecture, implementing high‑level security standards for data and voice infrastructures, and advising on the integration of business partners into the Mercedes‑Benz network. The role supports all related functions including routing, security, load balancing, IP address management and telecom providers, helping to design and deploy an enterprise‑scale network capable of handling traffic for large numbers of servers.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with business analysts to identify requirements and capture network changes requested to implement application needs (50%).
  • Consult and gather business requirements from partners, create reference architecture standards, design documents, and present solutions to peers and stakeholders.
  • Support and consult partners on the development of network infrastructures.
  • Develop network standards based on emerging technologies aligned with Mercedes‑Benz HQ guidelines.
  • Lead the design and development of data network, delivering fault‑tolerant, robust, highly available network.
  • Identify network optimization and automation opportunities, develop rollout and upgrade plans, and suggest uniform operating models.
  • Plan, commission, and manage project management methods.
  • Mediation between business areas, vendors, and partners during design and planning phase.
  • Deliver customer‑oriented communication tailored to customer requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate functional and non‑functional requirements.
  • Provide last‑level support for designed network solutions.
  • Systems engineering and operational support on 3rd level with focus on network infrastructure and software.
  • Analyze and specify technical requirements for network infrastructure and components.
  • Design network, telecommunications and network security infrastructure concepts and solutions.
  • Implement, test and document network, telecommunications and network security infrastructure concepts and solutions.
  • Estimate and calculate costs depending on service components.
  • Infrastructure lifecycle management for integrated infrastructure components.
  • Lead network outage resolution within the NAFTA region scope and collaborate with suppliers, Mercedes‑Benz AG.
  • Maintain the current NAFTA network environment and support requests for new connections, testing and troubleshooting in cloud or data center environments.
  • Document all network change requests per NAFTA region and Mercedes‑Benz AG processes.
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements, ICA needs and architecture guidelines for all development.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience.

  • Microsoft Security Compliance Identity Fundamentals Certified (SC‑900)

  • Microsoft Dev Ops Engineer Expert (AZ‑400)
