North American Rail Solutions (NARS) is seeking a dedicated and detail oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Coordinator will play a critical role in maintaining efficient HR operations, managing employee records, and ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The position offers an excellent growth opportunity for a motivated individual who will also contribute to the success of our company and employees.
MajorResponsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Assist personnel administrators and other HR staff with clerical support and with special projects as needed.
- Assist in disseminating HR-related information to employees, including policy updates, announcements, and resources.
- Track, monitor and relay outstanding applications to determine hire/rejection status with hiring managers.
- Assist with job postings, applicant tracking, and scheduling interviews.
- Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.
- Facilitate and monitor the entire onboarding process for all hires to ensure completion of new hire and rehire related employee documents.
- Process and onboard new hires and rehires in the company’s HRIS.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Generate reports on HR metrics, trends, and key performance indicators.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred.
- 3 + years’ experience in an administrative role required.
- Previous HR experience highly desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Paylocity and/or CmiC experience preferred.
- Railroad or construction experience is a plus.
