Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Subject Matter Expert with deep expertise in Spanish payroll to support our Payroll Operations team on a short-term contract. This role is a combination of hands‑on payroll processing and advisory and will focus on processing, validating, auditing, providing guidance on payroll processes. The SME will also play a key role in supporting the onboarding and knowledge transfer to a permanent payroll resource.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Spanish payroll (population of approx. 300 Associates, White Collars only)
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Spanish payroll regulations and practices.
  • Validate and audit prior payroll cycles to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance on Spanish tax, pension, and labor law requirements in support of payroll delivery.
  • Interpret and advise on collective labor agreements (CCNL) in support of payroll delivery.
  • Process and provide direction on monthly execution of payroll tasks and activities.
  • Act under the direction of HR Operations Leadership; collaborate with the Payroll Operations team to troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Support documentation, compliance reviews, and process improvements.
  • Assist in the onboarding and knowledge transfer to a new permanent payroll team member.
  • Ability to work in a global organization and with global team members in US, India and Europe.
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive, hands‑on experience with Spanish payroll, including expats, regulatory compliance and labor law.
  • Strong understanding of taxation, pension schemes, social security, and union agreements in Italy.
  • Experience processing
  • Familiarity with SOX regulatory control requirements
  • Experience performing payroll audits and validations.
  • Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English.
  • Able to work CET business hours.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with Workday, Service Now, Fiori Time Tracking or SAP Payroll platforms.
  • Familiarity with vendor Strada/NGA.
