Apply for the On Call Banquet Server position at The Crescent Hotel

Compensation:
Hourly.
The Banquet Server is responsible for the set-up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to hotel standards.
Responsibilities- Perform preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure guests are served promptly and efficiently.
- Read the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu for each function.
- Serve guests according to hotel standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Respond to guest complaints, problems, and incidents; communicate to management as necessary.
- Set all tables according to hotel standards.
- Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat, orderly manner, stocked with necessary supplies.
- Clean up banquet spaces after functions and ensure all equipment and supplies are stored and re-stocked properly.
- Prepare rooms according to the BEO and various meal functions.
- Follow all money handling procedures when serving guests.
- Know the menu items for each function served and provide accurate descriptions.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Flexible and willing to work long or irregular hours as required.
- Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Capability to stand for the entire shift.
- Effective listener who can understand and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Effective problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
