Work hours: PRN. Weekend and holiday requirements

Emergency Department Highlights
  • Our experienced and compassionate multi-disciplinary team in our Emergency Department cares for roughly 170 patients per day on our 43-bed unit. We offer self-scheduling for our Nurses, which provides you with more flexibility, and a nurse to patient ratio will depend on the acuity and area within the ED.
  • We are a Magnet designated facility, Joint Commission certified in chest pain, heart failure and stroke, Emergency Center of Excellence by Emergency Excellence, and Texas Ten Step Member Mother Friendly Worksite.
What You Need
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Other - CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required.
  • PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Required Or
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician:
    Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B). Upon Hire Required Or
  • Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required Or
  • Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire Required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
What You Will Do
  • Provide patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences.
  • Collect and report patient data, support admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and document care accurately.
  • Collaborate with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and proactively meet patient and visitor needs.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines.
  • Participate in process improvement, adhere to safety goals, and advocate for patients.
