DescriptionThe Radiology PACS Specialist is responsible for system analysis for all Radiology systems to include Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Radiology Information System (RIS), Voice Recognition Dictation System, and Teleradiology System. This position also provides end user support throughout JPS hospitals and clinics.
Typical Duties- Monitors error logs and exception reports to identify and resolve problems.
- Supports user access to the system including sign-ons, passwords, access scenarios and appropriate levels of security.
- Supports modality and interface acceptance testing.
- Creates reports and work lists to support business operations.
- Modifies systems to support the addition of new exams and procedures.
- Supports timely and accurate capture of images from all modalities.
- Supports process to resolve issues with “broken studies” and address exceptions in a timely manner.
- Coordinates with vendors as required for planning, interfacing and testing of new modalities.
- Monitors and maintains transmission of data to external entities such as EPIC to radiology images.
- Performs on-call support as required.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s Degree in related healthcare or IT discipline from an accredited University.
- 2 plus years’ experience in Radiology setting.
- 2 years’ experience as an Application Analyst or Help Desk Coordinator.
Preferred
Education and Experience:
- Proficiency in imaging applications such as Radiology information systems, Picture Archiving and Communications system, and Voice Recognition Dictation system.
