Center Medical Specialist
Seeking EMT Basic, EMT Advanced, Paramedic, LVN, or LPN for Plasma Donation Center. Salary is based on licensure and experience.

- Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
- Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
- Responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards
- Provide donor education regarding general health and counsel regarding unacceptable test results
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
- Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
- Assist in employee training
- Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program
Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT. Current CPR certification required.
Attributes- Work is performed both standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours per day
- Requires bending and twisting of neck up to 1 to 2 hours per day
- Frequent hand movement with precision finger, hand, and wrist movements
- Ability to grasp and manipulate objects with coordinated finger movements
- Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on heels; occasional walking, bending and twisting at waist
- Light lifting of 15 lbs with a maximum lift of 50 lbs; hearing acuity essential
- Color perception/discrimination, near and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and in the other eye to 20/100
- Able to communicate clearly and listen effectively
- Works independently and with guidance of oral or written instructions
- Performs a wide range of tasks as demands and conditions change
- Relates sensitive information to diverse groups; work is performed in a plasma center
- Exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms
- Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment
- Exposure to extreme cold in plasma freezers; PPE required (protective eyewear, garments, gloves, cold-gear)
