The Northwest YMCA is looking for a Massage Therapists to join the team. This position is expected to interact with new and existing members to help them in achieving their health and well-being goals and create a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred. LMT required, ASHI Basic Life Support. The ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Key Focus Areas
  • Talk with members about symptoms, medical history, and desired results.
  • Guide members through service offerings and help them choose the types of massages that would benefit them most.
  • Evaluate members to locate painful or tense areas of the body.
  • Design sessions around members' specific complaints or problem areas.
  • Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body.
  • Listen to members during massages and adjust technique to meet their needs.
  • Provide members with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture.
  • Suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions.
  • Document member's condition and progress.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
  • Attends all staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
